It appears that the recall campaign to remove Ida Chong from office has slowed down. It's the last week before the process completes and the last status update, provided a few weeks back, was that only about 8,000 signatures were accounted for in the petition. The petition requires just over 15,000 signatures in order for it to be successful. Since then, the count has been undisclosed and although it may appear unsuccessful at this point, there is still the benefit of the doubt until it is finalized.

ReplyDeleteAw, poor campaign fails this round. Tough fight to battle, but it's not over yet is it. Curious to see what happens next. Referendum? Yes? No? Maybe? I can't keep track.
Add this one to the historical list of unsuccessful recalls. Timing of process around holiday season, cold and wet weather for campaigners, and limited access to gain supporters in apartment/condos were factors considered to the failure:
